Historical Background
Shantikunj was founded in 1971 by pandit shriram sharma acharya, the revered spiritual visionary and founder of the all world gayatri pariwar (AWGP). It began as a small spiritual center with the mission of reviving vedic culture and Gayatri Sadhana for global peace and inner transformation.
The Temple is Dedicated to Maa Gayatri, Revered as The Divine Mother of wisdom, light, and knowledge. It houses The Sacred Gayatri Mata Idol, along with a Yajna Shala (fire altar) where Akhand Deep (eternal flame) burns continuously.
Over the decades, Shantikunj has evolved into an international hub for spiritual training, yogic studies, yagyas, Sanskriti Shiksha (cultural education), and social reform programs. It’s not only a Temple but also the Headquarters of a Major Spiritual Movement inspiring millions across the world.
